Contract and Procurement Records Management
Los Angeles Air Force Base home of the Space and Missile Systems Center - the Air Force's premier space acquisition center – selects Docucon to perform conversion services of 8 million pages.
Facing a directive to relocate offices, conserve floor space, implement more efficient means of records access/management and the preservation of historical records, LAAFB needed a solution and needed it in a timely manner.
The decision was to convert all contract files, historical documentation, engineering drawings and miscellaneous documents to a digital format (PDF). The files are both paper and microfiche based. Due to the sensitive nature of the data, processing must be performed on-site.
Docucon completed this project in mid-June 2006.
Docucon selected by the GSA Southwest Region to perform conversion services and provide a document management system.
Docucon has been awarded, through competitive bidding, a contract to convert an estimated 9 million pages of various contract files and related documents for GSA. The Ft. Worth based Southwest Region is the first of many GSA offices to implement an electronic document management system and digitize their contract files.
Docucon, as the prime contractor, has teamed with ImageNow to provide the electronic document management software. The system will support 100 concurrent users with easy access to documents, records and information through a user friendly search engine.
