Did You Know?
In the past year Docucon has converted more than 1 million images of patient medical records for BAMC (Brook Army Medical Center), the Texas Department of Health and private practices.
The Need to Convert Your Records
Whether you are implementing a complete EMR or EDM system or simply need to archive your Patient Records, an important and often time critical step in the process is a Backfile Conversion.
Archiving for Historical Patient Records
Did you know? A single DVD can hold up to 80,000 pages of Patient Records!
With the legal requirements to keep medical files for up to 21 years, and the compliance of 2010 nearing, converting those legacy Patient Records (paper microfilm, microfiche) to a digital format and storing them on DVD makes more sense than ever.
As you’ve probably already seen, the cost of storage space continues to go up. In fact, eliminating the cost of storage space alone will pay for the conversion to digital in a relatively short period of time …. and more importantly the data can be at your fingertips and/or stored at a safe off-site location.
We provide free pickup (1), secure storage, adhoc retrieval and return of your records as they complete the conversion cycle.
Access to your files is easy with our FREE document retrieval software DocuView.
And our services are HIPAA compliant.
(1) Free bulk pickup and delivery is available within 100 miles of our San Antonio, TX location.

HIPAA Compliance and Understanding
Docucon has years of experience in handling sensitive and classified data. Our facility and conversion procedures are designed to limit employee access to client records on a strict “need to know” basis and maintain the security and confidentiality of client information.
The facility itself has limited points of entry/exit and each is secured by electronic security access. Employee access to documents is only for the specific task they perform during conversion and all converted digital data is held on our secure network.
Docucon complies with the HIPAA regulations pursuant to incidental uses and reasonable safeguards as described in 45 CFR Parts 160 and 164.
